Jhai’s Charity Football Tournament 20th September 2019

It is that time of year again! Nerves are straining, punishing training regimes are being attempted and more visits than ever before are being made to a variety of specialist dietary establishments such as Pizza4U, FCK chicken and the provider of the sought-after health drink, the MacFlurry.

What could cause such a change in one of the leading Approved Independent Inspectors you may ask?

The answer is the upcoming jhai Charity Football Tournament.  It is without a doubt one of the most popular sporting events to hit Birmingham on the 20th of September*; when a horde of professional Managing Surveyors, Building Regulation experts and support staff will once again realise that they are simply too unfit, or indeed old to play actual football.  What will no doubt occur, will likely resemble the famous football scenes from Father Ted when all the old priests attempted to play football.

Regardless, the various offices will still be keen to settle old scores and show the others how they alone can claim the coveted prize of ‘Champions of jhai’.  No doubt, in pursuit of this worthy goal (pun intended) some players may resort to questionable practices such as actually using skills and playing the ball instead of the player, but we expect these to be the exception rather than the norm.

Obviously, as this is a charity event and to give such a tournament even greater standing jhai have chosen one worthy charity to benefit from all the sweat, blood and no doubt swearing that will result from such an event.

This year, jhai will be supporting Prostrate Cancer UK.   Prostate cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer in men, with an estimated 1 in 8 men living in the UK being diagnosed with it each year.

Prostrate Cancer UK is the largest charity in the UK seeking to help those affected with this awful affliction.  The key aim is to fund potentially life saving research in the hope of one day eradicating the illness once and for all.  The plan is to fund better diagnosis, better treatment, better prevention and better support.

To raise money, jhai will donate £15 per goal scored during the tournament to Prostrate Cancer UK.  Looking at previous years the number of goals scored will not be insignificant due, obviously to the skill of the strikers in each of the teams.  Realistically we expect to raise in excess of £400 for this worthy cause.
